Brad's Friday Fight Bodega - Double Dose
Written by Brad Taschuk
Friday, 04 December 2009 01:00
The bodega is going to serve as something of a weekend preview today, so we're actually going to show you not one, but two fights relating to the huge slate of MMA going on over the next 2 days.

The major cards going on this weekend (outside of the finale for the weakest season of The Ultimate Fighter since the inception of the show) come from all corners of the world.  On Thursday, M-1 put on their Selection Finals card, featuring a slew of Russian prospects as well as PRIDE Veteran Ibragim Magomedov (of Cro Cop liver kick fame).  Tachi Palace Fights put on their second re-branded show, which features the likes of UFC vets Professor X and Diego Saraiva, PRIDE vet Cyrille 'The Snake' Diabate and previous Bodega featuree, Ulysses Gomez.

On Friday, Alberta based promotion MFC puts on a card headlined by Thales Leites and Dean Lister, Ring of Fire in Denver has a card stocked with UFC vets (headlined by Mike Nickels and Vinny Magalhaes), and Rage in the Cage puts on RITC 138, with Joe Riggs set to get his daily dose of aluminum.  Check which fighter and fight from a busy Friday night we have in store for you, after the vertical body elevation.

FLD's Sloppy Slugfest of the Week #1: Hunt vs. Kohsaka
Written by Brad Taschuk
Thursday, 03 December 2009 17:38
This is a new feature on FLD, brought to you by the resident... guy who brings you fights, Brad Taschuk.

The SSotW will feature a fight that is contested primarily on the feet, and while they may not be examples of technical brilliance they will certainly be entertaining spectacles at the very least.  With the aid of some of our great forum members, I hope to make this a weekly event, much like my Friday Fight Bodega.  Credit goes to vikingpride for the unique "Fryamma" scoring system used for the SSotW.

The SSotW has been running on the forums for 3 weeks now, so just this once, you'll be treated to 3 separate slugfests in order to introduce you, so check after the jump for what 3 fights made the cut.

Why “Little Nog” is Bigger News at Light-Heavyweight than the Headlines Have Indicated.

Back at UFC 106 we all saw how Antônio Rogério Nogueira disposed of Luis Cane inside of a round. We all saw how ill-equipped Cane was to deal with Rogério’s superior boxing, quick left hand, southpaw stance, and to the surprise of some, his power. We all saw this. We all watched two top ten light-heavyweight fighters face-off and we all watched one dominate the other. We all saw the man with potentially the best ground-game and sharpest boxing in MMA at 205lbs, decisively disposing of a legitimate LHW contender within two minutes. Now, this week we all heard that same man, Antônio Rogério Nogueira, express interest in a fight with former champion and fellow top ten fighter; Forrest Griffin. We all heard this, but for some frankly inexplicable reason, people just aren’t talking about him, people just aren’t talking about “Little Nog”.

Written by Stephanie Pittman

This week at FightLockdown, our own Stephanie Pittman managed to steal some time from rising WW talent, Brian Foster. Foster recently defeated Brock Larson at UFC 105, consequently sending the former WEC WW contender packing from the UFC. In this interview, Foster was kind enough to answer the questions of his fans regarding his maturation as a fighter, his influences, the next type of opponent he'd like to face-off against, and his future in the UFC. Check it out, after the jump!
