Brad's Friday Fight Bodega - Riley vs Berger

After solid outings from Strikeforce and the UFC (main event aside) over the past two weekends, this weekend is going to serve to recharge the MMA batteries before the Octagon ships down to Australia for the first time for UFC 110 next weekend.  However, in the meantime we're left with quite the void this weekend, and that made it difficult to find a fighter to preview from the upcoming slate of fights.  As such, with the trusty bag of tricks always in hand, it's time to take a trip back to the midwest for a classic Hook N Shoot fight from 2000.

If you are unaware of Aaron Riley's exploits from early in his career in Hook N Shoot, you need to find a way to go back and watch those fights.  The man was pure excitement when he was fighting in front of those tiny crowds in dingy ballrooms and basements throughout America's heartland.  In this fight, Riley took on Steve Berger for the Hook N Shoot Middleweight Championship (for the record, Hook N Shoot has the coolest belts in MMA now that the PRIDE GP belts are no longer handed out).  Some people may not truly appreciate this fight, but it's one of those slow boil fights, where it progressively gets better, and the crowd (or what there is of a crowd) actually gets into the fight by the third round, which always makes for a better watch.

Anyways, consider this a gift from the youtube gods, as the entire 25 minute video is in one giant clip.
