Back for our second (but really fourth) edition of the SSotW.  This week you'll see two fighters who will prove to be mainstays in this segment.  Some fighters are just conducive to having brawls, and these two definitely fit into that category.  Both of these guys are incredibly fun to watch, since their primary gameplan revolves around moving forward and punching their opponents in the face, a lot.  That's about where their similarities end though, since beyond that one guy is a legend in the sport and the other is considered little more than a freakshow fighter.  This particular fight didn't turn out quite the way most MMA fans would have hoped, especially given the historical implications of the event.

Behold...
Don Frye vs. James Thompson
PRIDE 34

It had been known that Don Frye wasn't the same fighter he had been earlier in his career for a long time prior to this fight, however, given that it was widely known PRIDE 34 would be the last card under Dream Stage Entertainment, most fans had hoped that for nostalgia's sake, Frye would be able to pull out the victory over James Thompson.  Things obviously didn't quite materialize the way those fans had hoped, but let it never be said that the MMA gods aren't without a sense of justice.  Since his defeat of Frye, Thompson hasn't picked up another victory in MMA competition.
