Hey guys - I know there is a wealth of information amongst you guys on here and I have a couple of questions about Supplements.

Firstly, i've been making a consistent effort to go to the gym 5 days a week for the past 3 months with the goal of bulking up and gaining strength. I've tried different products in the past but never really got the results I was looking for, whether that was because of poor quality supplements or just crappy form in the gym I don't know.

Anyway, for the first two months I used Cyclone from Maximuscle. I know its bloody expensive but its the first thing i've tried that actually made me feel like it gave me an extra edge in the gym. After 2 months on that, I went onto Maximuscle Progain which was alot cheaper (this was to give my kidneys a rest from the Creatine).

I'm now back on the Cyclone again but I'm now looking for a pre workout drink of some kind to give me a bit of a buzz. One thing i've noticed is that alot of pre-workout drinks contain creatine and i'm worried about taking in too much creatine at one time.

I was on PMD Platinum Pump Fuel (http://fitnessnutritioneducation.blogspot.com/2010/01/pmd-platinum-pump-fuel.html) for a while but my supply has now run out. Anyone know if Creatine pre-workout drinks would be safe in conjunction with Cyclone? Or should I be looking for a totally different pre workout drink?

Sorry for the massive rant, just though a bit of background might help.

Kidney stress and Creatine is overrated. Don't worry about it. As long as you are drinking plenty of water and take a break from it every so often, you'll be fine.

Usually the creatine that is in Pre W/O drinks is under the recommended dosage of 5 grams. So I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not sure what it takes to give you a buzz, but you can buy a bottle of 300ct Caffeine pills for like $10. Pop 2 capusules before you workout and you're ready to go.

I've been using Cryoshock by Neogenix for while now and I really like it. If you want to look into that.

But really if your goal is to bulk, fuck all the expensive supplements and just eat. Easiest and most direct way to put on size.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah I've heard alot of different things about Creatine so thats why I was a bit unsure but have been taking cycles off of it and drinking extra water just incase.

So a pre workout drink with under 5g of creatine will be fine along with the creatine from my Cyclone?

This might be BS but i've heard that caffeine should be kept to a minimum while on creatine, or is that just a load of overhyped nonsense? Sorry for all the questions mate, i'd rather get your opinion than half the monkeys at the gym.

I'll check out that Cryoshock stuff in a sec, thanks man.

Also, yeah my goal is to bulk but I'm trying to keep fat to a minimum while I do it. At the moment I weigh 14.5 stone (203 lbs) but have 15% bodyfat.

Cyclone is weight gainer right?

You should be fine. If you are that concerned about it there are some other Pre workout supps out there that don't contain creatine.

I've never heard of any such things. A lot of pre workouts have a little bit of caffeine and creatine and I've had no problems.

There is a lot of "Bro-Science" that goes around at the gyms and on forums. Don't believe everything you hear and research it before you make a decision.

Yeah, then just eat a lot but eat clean and you should be able to put on some size and keep fat gain to a minimum.

Yeah Cyclone is a bit of a mix of things tbh but I feel like it works for me.

And I laughed at the 'bro-science', I know what you mean and thats why I thought i'd ask here. Theres far too much crap going around from either gym-monkeys or pushy salesguys.

Thanks again for the advice SP - I'll rep you when I can.
