View Full Version : Dos Santos vs. MuCully in August
With two quick knockout victories in the octagon, Junior “Cigano” dos Santos is training hard to come back in August. With victories over Fabrício Werdum and Stefan Struve, the Brazilian already knows who he’ll face. “Probably I’ll be back in August, at UFC 101 or 102, and maybe against Justin McCully,” revealed Dos Santos to TATAME.com. “They haven’t confirmed it yet, but spoke about it. He’s tough, fights for a long time, but I don’t know much about him. I’m training for a long time, but nothing hard yet”.

Yeah I like everyone else don't see the Insane 1 fairing too well in this fight. If he get it to the ground he is fighting Big Nog protege so his ground game has to be sick.

Just because Santos trains under Nog it doesn't mean his ground game is going to be awesome, or even average.

Right cuz Silva's, Machida's, and Little Nog's ground games are all suspect. But then I can see the flip side too I guess because Little Fedor looked like crap against The Head Hunter. I just think his ground skills will be good at least he doesn't take a beating like Big Nog.:)

the thing is, we haven't seen his ground game yet. he could have crazy ground skills, or he could be average, we just don't know yet. chances are that he's pretty slick on the ground being under nog's wing, but we just can't assume that. look at troy mandalonez, he trains with bj but really doesn't have much of a ground game whatsoever

I think your example shows BJ's lack as a trainer. I think Nog is a good enough trainer that Santos has good to great ground skills...I highly doubt they are HA level skills.

It seems like the UFC doesn't want us to see much of dos Santos, because he's going to knock out McCully in the first with ease.

I hope Mccully brings it because I'd like to see Dos Santos off his back just to make sure he's not another Sokky kinda guy who sucks on the ground.
However I don't see Justin lasting that long. 1st round beating by Dos Santos.
Hopefully Mazzagatti will ref this fight so we can see dos Santos land a few good smacks even after McCully is out. :p
I really, really dont like McCully and hope he gets cut after this
