Hey guys,

Last summer I bought myself a pair of new Nike running shoes and didnt really think anything more of it until I lifted the insole to find a little Nike+ pod.

Today I finally bought the little transmitter to go with my iPod so I can better plan my runs etc. I've been out calibrating and testing it this morning and it seems to work fantastically with the Nike+ app for the iPod touch.

Whats cool is that for the functions it gives you, you'd expect something big and clumpy to be hanging off of you - but you dont even notice it.

Has anyone else got one of these or thought about getting one?
I'll let you guys know more about how I get on with it after my run tonight.

Haha shut it.

/end product plug.

But seriously though, it really looks awesome and should help structure my runs. Just wanted to see if anyone else had opinions on them.

Seen something about this on TV a while ago but haven't heard anything since. Let me know how it works.

Well I used it properly for the first time last night and it worked really well, every now and then a sexy little voice tells you how far you've run - 1k, 1.5k etc etc.
It also counts my pace, time and calorie burn which is pretty handy and then once I was finished, it added my data from that run to a chart so I can track my progress.

For the £11 that the sensor costs, you can't really go wrong imo :).

I got myself a pair from the Nike Bill Bowerman series and they've served me so well :).
Heres the link to mine: http://store.nike.com/index.jsp?country=US&lang_locale=en_US&l=shop,pwp,f-4294965520+4294966988/hf-4294966954/t-NIKEiD_Nike+/c-1/pn-1#l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-204473

The colours are a bit loud and I wouldn't normally go for them but they really are awesome running shoes.

Word of warning, it doesn't accurately count your distance.

If all you want is a rough idea then it's fine, but if a particular pace or distance is important to you.....it's not accurate enough. Its a problem inherent with pedometers; you can calibrate them, but they're still not great.
