Thiago Silva arrived in the UFC with the perfect record of nine victories and nine fights and, after two more victories in the octagon, started to be possible a fight between Forrest Griffin and Thiago, but the Brazilian faced Houston Alexander, again winning by knockout. A year and a half later, the destiny crossed their ways again and Griffin vs. Sivla will happen at UFC 101, which happens on August 8th, in the United States.

"The expectation is good, the UFC has given me a good chance to recover my name. I’ll face a tough guy, I’ll give my best and train a lot. It will be a tough fight, sure, he’s a very good fighter, but I'm prepared", said the fighter, ensuring that won’t change his style after the first defeat of his career, against Lyoto Machida. "Anyone who knows me knows how I fight, I go for it and only on will be standing after the fight, for sure".

With the knockout suffered at UFC 94, the athlete of the American Top Team tells the lesson he learned: "Caution, not to be nervous. I thought I wouldn’t be nervous with Lyoto, because he runs a lot, but in the first minute I was already pulling my hair off... I think patience is the key", he says, dreaming with a rematch against the man who defeated him: "this revenge is what I want most in my life, brother"

Hard fight for me to pick but I am leaning towards Thaigo, although Forrest's size could give him problems.

Thiago needs to sharpen his skills a lot. He's still learning a lot of things about MMA but he has good BJJ, GnP and I think if he can get Forrest down he would have a chance to win a decision.

I'm not picking him Forrest should win it but Thiago has a chance in this one and training at ATT we should see a better Thiago this time out.

I like Silva but I can't really see him beating Forrest unless Forrest gets DQ'd

To be fair Forrest has pillow hands and can be takendown so it's not impossible for him just not likely.

i'm pretty sure thiago will be able to take him down as well. forrest likes to throw a lot of kicks, thiago will probably catch one and bring it to the ground from there, which is not where you want to be. i think thiago's got this fight.

Forrest will put Silva back into relative obscurity fairly quickly with this fight. He certainly doesnt understand gameplans at all though thats for sure. If anything he should Rush Forrest with his heavy hands. He should have been more patient with Lyoto if you ask, me the dude just doesnt seem to grasp the differnece in his opponents.

He is still one the most overated fighters in the LHW division if you ask me. Forrest will take care of it though. Rampage couldnt put Forrest away and I gaurentee Silva wont either.

I think Thiago has been overrated by a lot of people. I put a lot of money on Lyoto in their fight because I was 100% confident he would win. While he has a better chance in this fight since Forrest has shown he can be KO'd I think Griffin is the smarter, more controlled fighter and will take this to a decision victory

This has potential for FOTN. Both guys are in your face aggressive. I'm going to go with Thiago but it could go either way

Forrest isn't entirely stupid like Silva, and should most likely UD him with a comfortable victory.

Even pillow's can smash fine china :)

Forrest via TKO stoppage in the second, Thiago's a sloppy, reckless striker.

Thiago is still the most overrated fighter in the LHW division, i called it and said that he would be shown for what he really is against Machida. The only thing i didn't predict is that people still thought he was great....

Conversely, Forrest is the most underrated fighter in the LHW division, maybe even in MMA. He is tactical, massive and is very well rounded (one of the most well rounded fighters in the LHW division for sure). People are thinking Forrest's defence off his back is shit, but it's actually the opposite. Only reason why he was shit against Rashad was because he was badly rocked. If you don't believe me check the shogun fight, even in the 1st round he barely sustained damage (where shogun wasn't gassed).

I wouldn't be surprised if Forrest finishes Thiago, cause he gets rocked quite often, and you never know, but could also be a UD. One thing im sure of is that Forrest will win in this fight convincingly.

Anyone care to sig bet it :D

this is true he looked good on his back against Tito too and he has came along way since then. Forrest takes this hopefully by sub but probably by decision.

Forrest is going to use his reach and outpoint Thiago, though I would not be surprised if he gets a tko because I don't think Silvas chin is all that great.

Tough one to pick, I don't want to see either man lose. I think this will be a kick ass fight, Forrest wants to come back strong, same for Thiago. This one will be fireworks my friends.

Probaly end in a decision, and to me its up in the air....I'm guessing whoever looks the worst will lose so maybe Silva will win with Forrest cutting very easily. Either way it should be exciting and with both coming off losses they both really need a win.

Forrests ground game is underated no way I see Thiago being able to finish him on the ground, Forrest will pick Silva apart on his feet and win a convincing decision.
