Shite.

I hope it's better tomorrow, but it probably won't be. Doug Naylor is rubbish on his own.

It was actually decent, there was some good stuff there. The best comedy in Red Dwarf is when the guys just trade insults and dialogue when you bring action in to it its not as funny.

Doug Naylor wrote it without Rob Grant. He shouldn't do that.

CGI doesn't work unless you have a huge budget.

I think I laughed once.

From reading Rob Grant's books I would say it appears that the comedy in the series was more his than Naylor's.

I laughed a fair bit, its not series 2 and 3 vintage standard but its not awful.

You have built it up there have been worse episodes during its original run.

Better than most American comedies, that's for sure. I used to love this show as a kid.

Is Red Dwarf the one with the cat?

Half Man, Half Cat.

A friend of mine told me about this show, he said it's worth picking up at Bestbuy.

It's a great show, I'd recommend it. If you like British comedy you'll love it.

If by original run you are counting the last two serries then yes. If you're not, then whaaa, which episodes?

Half Man, Half Cat.
Nope. He's a descendant of a cat, just like we are descendants of apes. That's why he calls Lister monkey man.

Yes I was referring to series 7 and 8 especially sans Rimmer I suppose you could throw in the Last Day and Camille in too. They were not great either.

Yeah, the last two serries didn't have any input from Rob Grant either. :(

Yeah he was definitely the comedy driving force. There is too much emphasis on "science" with the later series and specials. I love sci fi and in the Star Trek franchises or Doctor Who etc I understand the need to have far out but theoretically plausible scientific reasons behind the plot but in Red Dwarf it really does not matter as comedy comes first or at least it used too.
