Seeing as though i'm a massive music fan and I know that you guy also enjoy it, I thought it would be cool to post and share some of the up and coming music from around the world.

Try and post a link to the Youtube video and a brief description of the genre of music etc.

I'll start us off with something i've had stuck in my head all week.

Florence and the Machine - Dog Days

Not entirely sure what you'd class this as but it really starts to kick off after the one minute mark.

That was a cool song. Xavier Rudd sings about saving the environment and such ;)

Good stuff, thanks JT for sharing them.

Here's an American band that you guys probably already know about but they're pretty new over here.

The Gaslight Anthem - Great Expectations

as well as this one

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WZB7yswo6a0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WZB7yswo6a0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

i've been listening to both of their cd's a lot recently. animal collective has a notorious reputation for being too out there or sounding too much like random noise to new listeners, but i feel that their latest release is the most accessible cd yet. definitely worth checking out

How can you genuinely believe such an ill-informed and general statement? lol and define "our generation"..

Really, in order to make such a claim, you'd have to hear all the music of this generation you speak of. Most music that's played on the radio is formulaic garbage, but there's still thousands of great bands out there who aren't going to see the major record label contracts.

Like...

Amesoeurs. Awesome French shoe-gaze post-punk band mixed with black metal.. They sound like they're straight out of the 80s, catchy as hell.

They broke up, but they released their self-titled album this year and it's the best thing I've heard in 2009.
