gutted that the ginger ninja has called it a day, but regardless of what club you support you have to show praise to the best English midfielder of a generation.

and played in the best midfield of the premier league era imo.

Beckham,Scholes,Keane,Giggs

676 Man Utd appearances, 150 goals
66 England caps, 14 goals
Premier League winner: 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011
FA Cup: 1996, 1999, 2004
Champions League: 2008
League Cup: 2009, 2010
PFA Team of the Year: 2003, 2007

Zinedine Zidane said he was "the complete midfielder" and "my toughest opponent".

The France international added: "Scholes is undoubtedly the greatest of his generation."

Never liked him, cause he's Man U player and pretty dirty with his tackles, but i give credit where credit's due. Scholes was a total boss in his prime, he was just unfortunate to play in the same era like Zidane and some other monsters in central midfield.

Haha, Scholes was a very good player, but is still madly overrated.

Oh, and...

In all seriousness, how cool was Scholes on the edge of the box with the ball at his feet? Just beautiful. A Lampard or a Gerrard would just smash it every time, but it was like a supreme state of calm would come over Scholes and he'd just know if a pass was there or if the shot was on, and just see it, and then just play it perfectly almost every time.

I blame Scholes for inflicting the Lampard / Gerrard "dilemma" on England. Before he retired it was either / or and everything was fine. After him coaches kept trying and failing to play both without any discernable success.

Damn you Scholes. DAMN YOU!!

Apart from that he was a damn fine player and along with Giggs the main reason for 20 years of Man Utd dominance.

Probably the best one timer from outside the box, ever. Such a sublime skill.

And him and Giggs will always be my favourite midfield duo

I always liked him, not madly liked him since he's ginger and he plays for Utd but gotta say watching him was some pleasure.

When I first started watching EPL, the tv station always showed a Man U match, so Paul was instrumental in getting me to follow soccer.
