“[Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is] super professional … He’s away from Curitiba (Shogun’s home town) and it’s good for him to get more concentrated. He’s on the right way, but [it is] still far from the fight, still has four weeks. He’ll get to the top now. I don’t know about Chuck, how is his preparation, but I think Shogun is very talented and, well trained, is hard to be beat…. I don’t think that the fight with Coleman was bad. It was a very intense fight, maybe he got tired more, but I think he fought well. He got tired, that’s normal. People forget that Coleman fought with Fedor few time ago and did a great fight, he is very tough… It’s not because he’s 45 that that you have to go there and kill him.”

Shogun seems really focused on this fight and seems to have some real good training partners.

I really hope no one over here tries to say it's a bad idea for Shogun to train with Maia.

I don't get why it would be a bad idea, while Chuck seems to be slowing down his style is still perfect for Shogun's so why not have Shogun try and get it to the ground and who better to train with as far as high level mma bjj?

What do you mean explain? MMAF has people saying that because Shogun is training with Maia and not a guy like Anderson Silva he's making a huge mistake.

Yeah that's ridiculous. I think it's great that he's training with Maia as I predict that his best chances of winning are on the ground with Liddell as opposed to standing.
