Ok ladies, I've decided to make a thread devoted to our camp over at MMAPlayground.com. Our camp has been active since the playground first started, but it seems that there are still quite a few people that are clueless as to what it is.
What is MMAPlayground.com???
MMAPlayground.com (http://www.mmaplayground.com/) offers a free Fantasy MMA Game for MMA fans. There are rules for joining our camp:
1. You must fall into one of these categories...
A) You must be a paid member or..
B) You must have at least 500 (spam free) posts
C) If you fall into either A or B you also can't have a negative reputation
2. Once you are a member you must participate in every event. If you miss two events in a row you will be removed from the camp. Not only do the members have their own record to uphold, but every member has a part in the camps rank in our division as well. So if you don't participate it makes us all look bad.
3. You are encouraged to participate in the thread devoted to each event. This way you can give you opinions for each fight and we can see who everyone feels will win the fight. By doing this it can help our entire team feel more comfortable in making their picks.
Thats pretty much it. The rules are simple, so please follow them.
So you've read everything and want to join now:
Just send The Legend (http://www.fightlockdown.com/forum/member.php?u=94) a PM and if you meet the requirements he will add you in as soon as he can. Follow the rules and at least be confident in your picks (even if it's against the majority) and you'll be fine.

Yeah Legend I think the rules may need to be changed a little since it will be hard for members to have 500 posts already lol

Yeah I realized that but I think people realize since this place just started up that they don't need 500 posts.

Hey guys, go check out the Fight Camp Directory, and look at our results from UFN 18, we're in the Middleweigh division. We decimated everybody (except in the betting category, thanks Catone).
fightlockdown:
-Average Score: 63.3
-Pick %: 77.8 correct
Next Best in Each Category:
-Average Score: 54.8 (Sabotage, Inc.)
-Pick %: 69.1% (Sabotage, Inc. & Come Get Some)
Too bad we started halfway through the season, or we would have this thing by a mile.

MMAF has a camp led by jdunn...i wonder who will win...
Brad.Taschuk
04-03-2009, 02:08 AM
That depends... if we let bbjd run our camp someday, we could be in trouble too. :p
On a related topic, how much shit is bbjd going to take for Catone, since really we all thought he was going to own Credeur? It is fun to blame one person after all.
MJB23
04-03-2009, 02:40 AM
Even if Jdun wasn't running their camp they really don't have a ton of knowledgeable guys over there that aren't in our camp.

04-03-2009, 11:21 AM
I'll take it Brad. I thought he would win and I wrote the article.
Now Aaron is the one who told me to write it (deflects some of the blame)
But yea Nick kinda killed us lol.
I also picked the wrong guy in Nissen vs Jorge on MMA playground not sure why.
2nd place so far, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't be to comfortable, I am in third and looking to make a run...

It's just amusing, because I think everybody was right there with you on that fight, nobody was impressed by Credeur and we all thought Catone's odds were amazing, since he should've been the favorite anyways. I posted a thread about it somewhere along the way too.
But you get blamed. I love it.

i think betting on nick was still the right play in hindsite. that is b/c given credeurs prior performances, we couldn't have known his jitz would be that effective. i think it was the right move and it will have more pot equity in the long run.....ugh...too much poker
bbjd7
04-04-2009, 04:51 PM
Has anyone else seen the fight. I only saw round 1 but I came away thinking it wasnt that Nick was bad or that we overrated his ground skills.
Tim just has a real good attacking guard.
The first armbar he pulled on Nick was outstanding and really really quick.
I don't regret betting on Nick or writing the article I think he could still be a good prospect.
Hey I finished first in our camp for UFN18 :D
I hadnt even checked until right now but you guys sure are lucky to have me

ATTENTION ALL FLD MMAPLAYGROUND PLAYERS!
Be sure to get in your picks for DREAM 8 because the lines close in 5 hours!
Make sure to get in your WEC 40 picks as well, because you only have 20 hours to do so!
I did so so for the Fight Night, Catone messed up my parlay lol.

i logged on the day after to see how my picks went (knowing that I won at least 7 but pretty sure it was more) and saw that they never went through...i was pretty upset mainly because I think it affects our overall rating...so SORRY for being an idiot somehow guys.

WEC 40 picks close in less than half an hour. GET THEM IN!!!!!
Just curious, does the secondary league have any effect to our camp?

I dont think so.
Just curious, does the secondary league have any effect to our camp?
I hope not because to be honest I didnt even know you could choose non-ufc fights on mmaplayground. I had never really investigated the site fully I guess
After reading this thread though I was able to get some quick picks in for the WEC event. I missed the Dream event though

Unfortunately it does not. I think if it did, we would be even more dominant as a camp.
How exactly did over 90% of people pick Bart against Njokuani? That's the kind of stuff we can make a killing on over there. Too bad WEC and DREAM were too close together to be able put wagers on WEC, or I would've cleaned up on that as well.

Dream, WEC, etc are in the secondary league and they don't effect the camps standings for the main league so if you don't want to make picks for them you don't have to.
Just make sure you make your picks for the UFC events because those are the ones that matter the most.

Silva
Liddell
Kongo
Herman
Cane
Quarry
Bocek

Prof X (the big Frenchman will beat Kang; his striking is solid)
Marshall ( I don't know shit about these two guys though)
My Secondary League picks for last nights event was terrible.

I was actually going to write something about TJ Grant as a prospect showcase but I couldn't find enough videos to feel comfortable with doing it. But yea Ryo has looked rather bad lately.
YEAH!! Came in first place for the camp, second time that has happened. Watch out Miles I'm coming for that first place spot. Currently 2nd in points and wagers.

After you click "My Fight Camp" scroll down and click on "Event Stats". Then you will see a list of events and you can click on and view Points or Earnings results for just one event

Went 7-4, but did terrible picking the outcomes. Only 45 points.
It's crazy that Miles and yorT who were out top 2 guys last season were right down there at the bottom with me at the start of this season.
But... 1st place in wagers.
I saw Judoka's name in the top 20 in points earned for this event, good for him.

I have been struggling in the last two events 22 points that is really poor. I need to shape up.

Sorry guys I usually bring more to the table. The last couple events haven't really gone my way. I ended up with 51 points for last night's event. I'll shape up.

I ended up with only 30 points but its because I only picked like half the card like the retard I am.
Ill do better for the next one, my picks are already pretty much made :)
Woot woot!!! I'm #36 out of 7030 players in points, bankroll 63 out of 7089.:amazed:

Nice work man.
What?
Man, I wish this event was CPL
And just like CPL I dominated you.;)
Not terrible but not great. I finished 5th in our camp in both points and earnings last night and am 4th for the season in points in our camp.

I got 47, I really should of gone with my heart. I would have got around 70 but I decided to go with my head which doesn't have much of a brain and did very poor.

My parlay for UFN 19 is Maynard, Wilson, Silva
MilesHackett
09-15-2009, 09:44 PM
I think Silva's going to ruin your parlay lol.
I just put a wager on Guillard.

No he won't. I was considering Guillard but that fight is too close for me.

The only parlay I'm really considering is Maynard, Quarry and Larson, which I consider just about as sure a thing as sure things go. It pays at +153... which isn't bad for three extremely safe bets.
Other than that, I've got a single bet on Maynard at -125 (huh?), and a bet on Guillard.
Edit: If Maynard wins, and my parlay goes through I make $46,000. Another $18,000 if Guillard wins too.

I picked against Credeur and Guillard, BUT my parlay is Guillard, Credeur, and Silva.
Big payout if these upsets happen.
I think Credeur could withstand Nate's onslaught and catch him in a sub. And Guillard may just KTFO Diaz if Nate stands with him for too long. If not, he could hold on to him for three rounds and get a decision.
As far as my Silva pick... I just hate CB Dolloway.
My parlay is Silva, Credeur and Steinbeiss. I'll win quite a bit if I'm right.

It's a close fight, but Melvin's odds are too good to pass-up IMO. Dollaway's a choke artist, but I'm not sure why you're so confident in Silva?

I'm taking a pretty big risk but my parlay is Guillard, Stann, and Nover.
With the amount I bet if it pays off I'll win 41K.

Yeah Melvin's odds do look good but I am just not sure on that fight, and you already made my point that CB's a choke artist and although I haven't got a chance to watch his fights but I read he is pretty good(yes I know don't always believe what you read) and he trains with Rampage

My parlay is Quarry, Larson and Silva. I have seen Silva fight at Ring of Combat. He is very strong and dominant.
I put up $500 hoping for that $1,950 return.

Took my single bet off Maynard. No reason to bet $40k on one fighter, even if I am confident in him winning.
Now, my parlay pays $30,000 and Melvin bet pays $18,000. Still a hefty payday. Should get me into the top 15 again.

True, but a lot of people think/thought Melvin is/was horrible on the ground which is Nate's strength. I am not bashing anybody for taking Melvin since I was close to taking him and I hope he wins tonight. I am curious to why you guys are taking Melvin though?

MilesHackett

Out of Daley and McFedries I think Drew is probably the safer wager. Drwal will choose to stand and bang, but if Kampmann gets Daley to the ground he could very well submit him.

I now don't consider upsets unlikely anymore.
NO such thing as an upset in MMA.
Did good on this event. Got to work my way back up but not sure if that's possible. I didn't put picks in for UFN

Oh I was gonna say that's pretty freaking impressive.
Still that's cool that you were first for the camp. I should probably start turning in picks for the secondary league. I usually do better with my WEC/SF/Dream picks then I do with my UFC ones.

You definitely should man, we need more activity in that league.
I wish MMAPlayground kept an overall record ranking.. I probably have one of the better win-loss ratios on the site.

The only reason I remember to make my ones for the primary league is when I see someone post in here what their parlay is.

I missed the last few events because I didn't have time to submit my picks so my stats are horrible this season. It sucks because I was doing pretty good too.
