TUF episode 2 discussion thread

Alright, so keep all discussion related to episode 2 in here.

So far it's been alright, teams have been chosen (Chuck picked small guys) and they have been showing training. Also one of the guys on tito's team looks alot like Mayhem, right down to the crazy hair.

I actually like Tito as a coach. He comes of really likeable when he's teaching. Any other time I think he's a douche but I don't mind watching him coach.

And they should at least let Chuck mention that Shields is his JJ or Wrestling coach. When they showed the picking of the teams Shields was standing there like "meh lets get this shit out of the way".

tito does come off as good coach, even if he is a dumbass when not coaching , that triangle was nice but damn what was he doing he put himslef in it lol

Not a bad episode, and yes that traingle felt like slow motion. As much as a dislike Tito I cant deny that he is a good coach.

Does anyone know how the pay structure works? I mean obviously the trainers aren't doing this for free so would that technically mean Shields is on the UFC payroll?

Yeah i would assume Shields is getting paid something. Otherwise with the lack of times they are gonna show him or admit he's even there it's not worth him being there unless he is.

Anyone else feel like Hackleman is fucking thrilled for Chuck to be doing this show so he has a chance to get himself in the spotlight again?

Tito is a good coach, but why drill triangle defense RIGHT after the fight? The dude is obviously distraught that his dream got crushed. Let him decompress and do drills the next day when he has calmed down a little bit.

Very true, after getting a whole demonstration on triangle defense catered directly to him on national television, it's not something he's gonna soon forget.

Honestly i don't care for Tito as a fighter at all or even really as a person (though thats tough because i obviously don't know him personally). However if i was to ever take on MMA and get on TUF he'd be one of the guys at the top of my wish list to be my coach. Dudes a solid motivator, who in training seems to tell it pretty much how it is, and he's gonna give you a ton of help during your actual fight.

I agree with all of that, but I would say he's significantly better than "decent".
