hi guys,

how far down do you all go when you bench? i know a lot of ppl can touch their chest without their elbows passing 90/having a lot of shoulder rotation. but for the life of me, even with back arching (keeping my butt on the bench of course), my elbows still go way past 90 if i want to touch my chest. i've been going down to my chest/maybe an inch or so off my chest lately.

my questions are, how bad is it for your shoulders if im going way past 90 with my elbows? should i just stop a few inches off my chest instead?

opinions?

I'm having a hard time picturing in my head what you are talking about. You should definitely be touching the bar to your chest every time.

Arch more. Tuck your feet under your ass and stand on your toes, flare your lats.

My elbows still go past 90 when I bench, but it doesn't hurt my shoulders.

Ok thanks TN. Basically I wanted to know is: if its doesnt hurt its ok. going past 90 doesnt hurt my shoulders, but i didnt wanna do anything thats gonna cause problems in the future.
