Does anybody here do yoga at all? Or are you all too macho for that sissy shit?

I did my first class tonight, and of course me being me, I jumped into one of the more difficult classes at my gym. Afterwards, the teacher said that he didn't believe it was my first class, since I was essentially in the middle of the pack in terms of how I did (except my flexibility is really lacking from where I want it to be), so that was good, since I don't like being shitty at things.

It was both challenging and enjoyable. An excellent workout for stabilizing and core muscles, obviously great for flexibility (all things I'm focusing on of late) and a nice change of pace. I sweat my ass off in there, and I don't feel like I worked any less hard than during a normal gym session... just differently. Definitely something I'll be doing again.

So, anybody else have any experience with it?

Well it depends. There are different types of Yoga. I couldn't honestly tell you what they are all called though, but they differ in intensity.

I can't say I have done Yoga, I'm to hyperactive as it is. I can't sit still long enough to do it.

The class was called "Vinyasa Flow" if I recall. I think the idea was to transition from position to position as seamlessly as possible.

I need to start doing Yoga, as I'm really flexible, and can get both legs behind my head. I was thinking about doing it in in the March of 09, but I couldn't be arsed. If I want to stretch, I just do it at home.

I do Tai Chi, though. It's really good for my mind when I'm stressed out, although I'd never be one of those loonies who does it in public parks.

I'm far to macho for that shit, I know that it would benefit my flexibility a lot but y'know, it's yoga.

LOL. Some dude started doing this in the mats area of my uni gym last week. Was probably the most awkward thing I have ever seen in a gym considering how crowded the area can get.

I can't even touch my toes without some sort of bend in my knees, so I really think yoga would be a tough task. But god damn I love flexible chicks, so maybe a yoga class might be a good idea.
