this one's crazy. it reminds me of the establishing shot of a villain's hideout in a movie. great atmosphere!

Haha, thanks man.. I never really thought about it the way you described, but I can definitely see the villainous quality. I could see it being the main setting for a sci-fi film, mainly because it's hyper-industrialized and looks so unnatural in a natural setting.

It's probably the best photograph I have ever taken. I took it while I was back in Wales for my grandmother's funeral last year, really happy with how it turned out.

the second i saw that i was like, damn..that's a cool photoshop effect lol

it's crazy how things turn out.

this one's got a cool effect to it. the buildings look bigger than they probably are and it's as if they're being pushed together.

Absolutely agree man, sometimes things just happen for a reason with art.. I find. A shot can be made so much better just by sheer chance, like it was supposed to happen.

Yeah, I get that vibe as well, now that you mention it. Somewhat ties into the sense of motion I was kind of alluding to. I love depth of field, it's one of my favorite things about photography and cinematography, so I was pretty satisfied with the angle I managed to get on the street.. it almost looks endless.

Wow, very impressive.

I really like the strange colours of "The Emerald and Ebony Palace". Even though those colours are not related directly to the refinery, it gives me the impression of how humans have been such a burden to the planet. On one hand it's beautiful, but also depressing in another sense.

Thanks, I definitely agree with that evaluation.

In terms of purely cinematographers, I like Greg Toland (Citizen Kane) and Peter Hannan (Children of Men).

A lot of my favorite cinematographers are directors too, like Woody Allen, Ingmar Bergman, Jean-Luc Godard, Martin Scorsese, and Paul Thomas Anderson.

Title: "Doggy In the Window"

Location: My living room.

Subject(s): My dog, Buffy.

Notes: Every day at around 5pm, my dog climbs onto the couch arm and sits there, waiting for my parents to come home from work. She looks incredibly intense and fixated, so I figured why not take a shot? The dog looking through the window at the free world is kind of a sad image, don't you think? This was taken on my Blackberry Bold.

Title: "The Living Oil Painting"

Location: Venice, Italy.

Subject(s): Pastel houses alongside the water.

Notes: The way the water reflected the beautiful colored villas inspired me to take this photograph. It almost looks like the water and the colors are from a Renoir painting.

Haha, thanks. The camera is old, I would like to get a new one when I can afford it.. preferably non-digital though.
