While Thiago Silva was open-handed slapping Brandon Vera last night (Jan. 1) at UFC 125, light-heavyweight prospect Jon Jones tweeted the following: "Wow that slapping was so disrespectful.. id love to give him a slap in the face."

I think I've voice my pleasure about this bout before but I like the sounds of this fight, I say hook it up!

Jones is a huge favorite if this happens but Thiago hits way harder than anyone he has fought yet and is a better striker than anyone he has fought yet.

Vera could always try, you know, actually fighting back if the other dude just wants to slap him. It's not like Thiago did nothing but slap Vera, he also did a decent job of beating someone up who wanted to part of the fight.

I think with Thiago being on the shelf for almost a year, he just wanted to prove that he's still relevant in the LHW division. Many people had written him off including me after his losses to Machida and Rashad.

Vera had every chance to fight back and wouldn't and when you just curl up when your opponent has your back so that they can't get a RNC or knock you out then he has every right to try and open you up to strikes by pissing you off.
