Let's get some discussion on this beast!

Shogun/Vera - I've given this bout some thought and unless Henderson took every morsel of fight out of Shogun this is gonna be some murder fun, I hope Shogun destroys him in amazing fashion, I'm sick of the marketing around Vera pretending he still might be something one day.

Machida/Bader - Broken this fight down and unless Bader can catch Machida with a big right bomb he's gonna get lit up like a xmas tree from the outside....Bader doesn't set his TD's up well at all and his striking is very basic, Machida by wide UD or TKO are what im trying to decide.

Lauzon/Varner - This one is tough, Varner is coming off an impressive victory over Barboza but I do question if Barboza underestimated Varner in that one. Lauzon is coming off that massive KO loss to Pettis which is always concern when picking them in there next bout, Varner has taken this on short notice again so still a bit up in the air on this one.

Swick/Johnson - Good god, why is Davis on the UC while Swick gets a MC slot after sitting on the side for over 2 years? Anyway Swick lost his last 2 and DeMarques is a low gatekeeper at 170, makes it very difficult to decide, I want to pick Swick but 2 years is a very logn time in this sport.

As much as I like Omigawa, I feel like his stand up just falls into a vicious loop by the 2nd round and just gets awful. A 5 year old can predict him by the 3rd.

I just remember the Eliot Marshall fight where he got rocked in the
3rd. Haven't rewatched the fight but I'm pretty sure Vera lost that fight.

Varner vs Lauzon is a big fight for both guys. Both are guys who started the sport at a young age and were seen as guys with alot of potential. Varner seemed to live up to his a bit more, but has still stumbled along the way and has yet to find consistency especially as of late. And Lauzon is a guy who's only ever really shown glimpses of Greatness He absolutely smashes average to below average guys and flirts with becoming a perennial top 10 guy, but just can't hang in there.

I see this being a really exciting fight that pushes the winner into the top 10 at the weight class in the UFC.

Edit: Main event and Co main should both end violently. Vera has no answer for Shoguns hand speed and speed in general. Provided Shoguns knee's are not Sakuraba bad i don't see Vera making it to the third. Machida will make Bader look silly on the feet and will use his angles and accuracy to pick Bader apart and he'll likely get a finish when Bader telegraphs a desperate overhand.

i actually think vera has an allright shot at this. Seems like he struggles against bigger guys, but shogun isnt that.

dont get me wrong, i am picking shogun, but not going to be surprised if veras thai boxing matches up well against shoguns. Shogun has been so hit and miss the last few years, and i have always felt that vera just has some hidden potential that can come out at any time he is not having his back used as a set of bongo drums
