I scored 2, 4, and 5 for Edgar.
I scored 1 for Henderson.
I scored 3 a draw.

49-47 Edgar

I thought bendo won rd1, Edgar won 2 and 5 while 3 was a draw and 4 was a toss up.

Usually the close rounds go to he who looks busier which would normally benefit Edgar. This tine actual connections were required and that benefited the champ.

I can see why people disagree with the decision but it wasn't the worst decision ever. Edgar / BJ 1 was far worse.

I don't think the 4th round was definitively Edgar's. I'm fine with the decision, it was a close fight. I'm surprised Henderson didn't wrestle more with Edgar.

I thought the 4th round was pretty clear. Ben came out decently, and threw some sloppy knees towards the end of the round, but aside from the first and last 30 seconds it was all Frankie, and even then those beginning and ending periods were close.

Frankie definitely won 2 and 5, should have gotten the nod in 4 as well. I actually had the exact same score as Rhetro 49-47 with all the rounds the same.

And why are you shocked that Ben didn't wrestle more? He literally lost every grappling exchange in that fight aside from another guillotine in the first that wasn't close to ending the fight.

Just checked the Sherdog poll asking who won, and 57% say Edgar, 27% say Bendo, 16% Draw. Looked on MMA Decisions, and every major website that does PBP had either Frankie winning (most 49-46) or a Draw.

I don't care that it was a close fight, I'm kind of sick of judges being on the wrong side of every decision and people just letting them off the hook. If nearly all of the MMA media and the majority of fans all come to the same conclusion, why can't we hold the judges to the same standard?

I thought with him having a bigger frame and generally being the bigger guy, he would get him against the fence and work some knees to slow Edgar down. I thought when he delivered the leg kicks that took away Edgar's balance, he would try and take him down and create some scrambles. Just generally a bit disappointed in Henderson's performance, I think he's a lot better than what he showed.

I totally agree with you. After a bit of searching I am surprised that people aren't more in arms about this. Sure it was was a close fight, but the fight still had a clear victor.

I also scored 49-46.

I really don't get what the fuss is, clearly Garcia won this fight 5 rounds to 0.

In all seriousness though i really wasn't paying close enough attention to the fight as I was busy drinking lol but just from casually watching the fight I really was expecting Edgar to get the nod. Even when they started announcing it as a SD i thought it was going to be Edgar.

http://blog.fightmetric.com/2012/08/...icial-ufc.html

And here's FightMetric making their live stats look more foolish than they looked during the actual fight. The stats after the fight had Henderson outlanding Edgar 89-62 which I thought when I first saw it was absolutely ridiculous.

Now they say Edgar outlanded him 66-62 in significant strikes and 70-65 overall which seems far more accurate, if then even a bit generous for Ben.

So if Edgar landed more, hurt Henderson more, and controlled the grappling, how did Ben win? Wasn't his win last time around all about doing more damage? What's the reasoning this time?
