So Beckham retired, what is your lasting memory of him?!
There were certainly highs and lows, mostly highs though and his performance/free kick against Greece is my big memory of him, just played out of his skin and the free kick was just amazing.

I guess the most memorable moment for me was his free kick vs Madrid. But the Greece FK is a good call.

Greece. It has to be. That entire game he was relentless. He covered every blade of grass and even without the free kick he drove the team to be in that position where they even had a chance to go through. Other players had checked out and given up in that game, but Beckham hadn't. It's why anyone who likes to criticise and say he was more of a model than he was a footballer can fuck right off. Beckham was a pro, and that game was the closest I've seen anyone come (in English football) to Roy Keane's performance in the 1999 semi-final against Juventus. Yeah, it's Greece. And what a free kick, too.

Very few people struck a dead ball as well as Beckham. The Wimbledon goal was probably the first time I took notice of him. So that and him kicking out in the Argentina match are the first things I think of when I think 'Beckham'.
