Betting odds for Shogun vs. Evans are up

Bodog: Shogun at -250 vs. Evans at +190
Sportsbook: Shogun at -240 vs. Evans at +190

I thought they would be a bit closer, with Shogun being around -200 or so.

I might drop a few coins on Evans. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards him. He's not going to trade punches with Shogun, just needs to work on his cardio to take him down for 5 rounds and avoid the submissions. I've rewatched Shogun's last fights the other day and his takedown defense is just bad. He has the worst takedown defense of anyone at the top of the LHW division.

His takedown defense isn't as bad as Nogueira's but really you are correct it's bad. He does however have the best sweeps at LHW.

Honestly I thought the odds would be closer but +190 isn't too off to me.

This will be an interesting and close fight. Rashad will get him down but his cardio has always been an issue. He has also shown in his 2 previous fights by the 3rd round he starts to get tired and less careful and gets caught. 5 rounds is a long time to last without getting hit. Also if Shogun can land some hard fast leg kicks Rashad's not so amazing shot becomes even less amazing.

It will be hard to be against Shogun in this fight, but with Evans takedowns, i honestly don't know.. Could make for an interesting fight..
