Swimming is great for overall workout or grappling. I really like biking as well, because it is low stress on your joints.

When you say Football, are you talking American, or Soccer?

Soccer would be up there (although it doesn't really engage the upper body much), but I don't think Football would. It's too intermittent, and too specialized to be a great full body workout.

Some at the top of my list would be Wrestling/Grappling, Tennis, and Basketball (in that order, although I'm sure I'm missing some). All mix explosive movements with a great cardio workout and really engage hip/core muscles.

I didn't include things like Triathalons, since that is a mix of sports.

I agree.

I'd also like to add that probably joining a gang is good training too. The initiation beating will toughen you up for sure.

Wrestling 100% in my opinion. I'd disagree with grappling(if by grappling you mean submission wrestling), only because there are many more opportunities to relax. I could literally do BJJ/NoGi all day without getting tired, but I'd be panting after doing a 5 minute round of wrestling.

Squash is good too. If you can get good at it, get in a really long rally, quality fun and knackering.
