1. What do you train in? (BJJ, wrestling, muay thai, etc....)
2. How long have you been doing it? 3. What's your rank? (blue belt, purple belt, etc..) 4. Where do you train? 5. Who are your instructors and what is their lineage? 6. What do you like best and worst about each art and training in general? 7. Do you compete? If so, what's your record? If not, do plan on competing? 8. Have you used your skills in a street fight? If, yes, what happened? 9. Why did you start? I'll go first. I don't train because of injuries (bad back, bad knees, and TMJ), but I'd love to. If I started, I'd do the basic 3 (wrestling JJ, and muay thai), mainly because I want to get in shape as well as to learn how to fight. |

1. UFC
. BJJ, Muay Thai, Boxing, and Wrestling all in one class.2. A year. 3. I don't like to do belts. 4. A gym in Sunderland which goes by many names. 5. Steve Black, Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu, and former Mixed Martial Artist. 6. I appreciate every art (except Wrestling which I find hard). In standup, I let guys implant their gloves into my face, so I can hit back harder. I work best on the Ground. 7. Planning to enter ammeteur Mixed Martial Arts next year, as well as a Jiu Jitsu tournament (No-Gi). 8. Some f*cking asshole tried to feel my Girlfriend's ass, so I swang at his face, knocked him down, and walked away. 9. So I could become like Joe Son.

Great thread idea, I'm sure we'll see some interesting responses.
I'm going to move this thread over to the Stand-up and BJJ subforum though! |

1. What do you train in?
I dont train formally anymore but i boxed. 2. How long have you been doing it? did it for aboot 6 yearsish. 3. What's your rank? no rank really well i dont want to be too modest but i was billed as the G.O.A.T for several years. ![]() 4. Where do you train? i trained at the Astoria boxing club i was there when it was still on hastings and was with em very shortly while they were at the orth burnaby inn. anybody in vancouver who is looking to take part in boxing should deff hit em up at the fraser arms. 5. Who are your instructors and what is their lineage? Mike Vukelic and George Angelomatis. 6. What do you like best and worst about each art and training in general? i liked everything about boxing the only bad thing was the runnin which my knees could only handle for so long. everything else was awesome i loved all the drills, countless hours spent training footwork and timing it was awesome. 7. Do you compete? If so, what's your record? Amateur record of 4-2. 8. Have you used your skills in a street fight? If, yes, what happened? Of course i have had to, you really remember a lo of the things that are drilled into your head when you are about to be waist deep in shit lol. one that i can recall off the top of my head i was fighting a kid who was a fair bit bigger than me and he kept throwing big looping punches i would keep stepping back and duck underneath then come forward with a right straight then left hook to the body the circle back out and watch him come forward and throw the same looping overhand punches. idiot. 9. Why did you start? self defense actually i was picked on a lot when i was a kid i was a fatty mcfatfat, got tired of being picked on and took up boxing. it fucking sucks though my back and shoulders prevent me from taking part in a sport i fucking loved so much. all you younger fucks out there take care of your fucking bodies. fuck.

1. Boxing, Kickboxing, wrestled in highschool, roll with BJJ guys occasionally
2. Boxing for 10 years off and on, kickboxing for 6, been rolling off and on for 6 3. No rank. 4. Now, my basement. But I started at Russel Jones' "fight club" in Baton Rouge. (I do not like that name for a gym) 5. Russel Jones was a firey little Muay Thai guy. He had a bunch of belts and trophies on his wall, but I never asked about them. 6. I prefer to stand because I have power and explosiveness. Slick BJJ guys school me on the ground, though. 7. I boxed as an amateur, and though I didn't mind getting hit, I didn't like the feeling of knocking guys out. Makes me feel bad doing it for no other sake than competition. However, I was never in any real wars with guys that were as good as me, so I have no idea how good I actually am against more highly skilled opponents. 8. Yes, having good stand-up in street fights is awesome. Most people telegraph a lot of their punches, zero head movement, and most of the time they are drunk where as I never drink. 9. Just to know how to fight.
