 This week I was lucky enough to get a hold of UFC heavyweight stand-out Shane Carwin, who has steamrolled his last three UFC opponents—including former #1 contender Gabriel Gonzaga—in less than a single round combined. Shane voiced his opinions on the evolution of heavyweights in the sport, the quality of his training, and why he feels Fedor Emelianenko isn't the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world anymore.

 It was reported yesterday by MMAMania that the match-up between Dong Hyun "Stun Gun" Kim and Jonathan Goulet set for UFC 100, had fallen through due to an injury sustained by the French-Canadian during his preparation for the bout. With less than a month until the event and few welterweights that weren't tied up with match-ups of their own, it appeared as though fans would be losing the opportunity to see "Stun Gun" in action.

 UFC 99 Recap & Thoughts
On Saturday afternoon (or night, in Europe), UFC 99 took place, as the Octagon was shipped to Germany for the first time ever. The card was one that casual fans may have looked at and dismissed, but it was very anticipated by hardcore fans as there were numerous match-ups that had the potential to produce absolute barn-burning fights.
