404 Error: Your 'MMA' Cannot Be Found

The story has been conveyed in countless manners; how MMA is inexorably linked to the internet, how a group of devoted fans spread across the world saved an entire sport from extinction. Why then is it that the third most visited site on the entire internet (Youtube), seems so reviled by major MMA promotions?

Going back to the days of PRIDE, Youtube videos were a helpful tool for fans to stay up-to-date on MMA in the Far East. However, it is also necessary to look at some of the things the organization can improve upon in their second year as a major player in the sport. These smaller details, to this writer at least, show part of the story as to why the UFC is still the biggest and best MMA promotion in town - even if they’re not always everyone’s favourite show – and why Strikeforce, while making admirable progress in 2009 and the early part of 2010, is still a distant second.
